CHITWAN ELEPHANT FESTIVAL 2023 : The ethical elephant festival 2023 ended with joy in Chitwan, Nepal

Since last 20 years , Chitwan Elephant Festival has been organized between 26-30 December every year but from 2018 , the festival was halted due to the Covid Period . During this time there were many inquiries from tourist like “ When do Elephant Festival Take Place in Chitwan ? How can we connect with Elephants in Chitwan ? We are also interested in unique experiences - potentially with the elephants , How is it possible ?

This year between 26-30 December ,2023 the 17th Chitwan Elephant Festival 2023 was completed successfullyand over 100000 international as well as national visited the festival . Chitwan is considered as 3rd most popular and visited destination of Nepal , and Chitwan Elephant Festival plays an intregral part of promotion of Chitwan Tourism and its growth .

The year 2023 , ended with the elephant festival in Chitwan , which this year was modified and all the programs which were thought to be physical pressure to elephant were removed . In previous years before COVID , there were activities like Elephant Fast walk , Elephant Polo in Nepal , Elephant Football , Elephant Race but now these activities were replaced .

This year 17 years old Selfie Kali was honored with most beautiful elephants , which prize is evaluated by a team of Elephant Doctors , the Mahuts ( Elephant owners , local government and people . The elephant is provided point on the basis of how friendly it is , how obedient it is , how healthy elephant is , how clean are the nails, eyes, tails and many other features .

The Festival not only promotes Elephant, it also promotes the local culture, local foods , the business . Overall the festival also boost the economy of Chitwan through its ecosystem .
